Carol Yager 5 ft 7 is gauged to have weighed more than 1600 pounds at her prime. She suffered weight issues since childhood. In 1993, she was evaluated at 1189 pounds while admitted to Hurley Medical Center, suffering from cellulitis. She lost almost five hundred pounds on a 1200-calorie diet, but virtually all of that free weight was believed to be liquid, and she retrieved whole of it and additional soon after being released. Her adolescent daughter, a boyfriend, and a group of volunteers served to take care of her. In spite of exuberant promises by dieting hotshot Richard Simmons and talk-show host Jerry Springer, Yager found little practical help in return for her media vulnerability (whilst Springer proceeds to profit from her appearance on his show, having rerun that episode at least four times). She was declined additional hospital care on the grounds that her condition wasn't critical, in spite of massive water retention and signs of inchoate renal failure, and these troubles led to her death a couple of weeks later.
